YouTube Announces Plans to Crack Down on AI Slop

YouTube is updating its AI disclosure rules to make labels more prominent on standard videos and Shorts.

The platform will also scan for photorealistic AI content and automatically apply labels when needed.

Only realistic or meaningfully altered/generated content will get the front-facing label; other AI uses will be labeled less visibly.

YouTube says the changes improve transparency without affecting recommendations or monetization.
