NASA is planning the FM2 experiment to test how materials burn in lunar gravity inside small Moon habitats.

The controlled burn, slated for late 2026, will use cameras, radiometers, and oxygen sensors to track flame behavior.

Researchers want to learn whether reduced gravity changes flammability and fire spread in ways that Earth tests cannot capture.
