Visa: 30% cashback for tap-to-pay rides nationwide in May, up to 600 yen

Visa will launch a nationwide transit campaign in Japan from May 1 to 31, 2026, offering 30% cashback when riders use Visa contactless payment on eligible transportation services.

The promotion covers 46 railway operators across the country, with a cashback cap of JPY 600 per card.

Visa and participating card issuers will also roll out additional perks, aiming to further encourage transit payments by card, smartphone, and wearable devices.
