Gmail End-to-End Encryption Comes to iOS for Workspace Users

Google has expanded Gmail client-side encryption for Workspace users from desktop to the native Gmail apps on iPhone and Android.

Users can now compose, send, read, and reply to encrypted email directly in the mobile app, without separate apps or portals.

Gmail recipients see a normal thread, while non-Gmail recipients access messages through a secure browser link.

The feature is available for Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains, but requires Enterprise Plus with Assured Controls or Assured Controls Plus.

Admins must enable mobile clients in the Admin Console for it to work.
