Apple is ending the iPhone Upgrade Program, and not everyone will welcome its replacement

Apple has ended new upgrades under the long-running iPhone Upgrade Program and launched Apple Upgrade, a Klarna-backed leasing service.

The new plan expands coverage beyond iPhone to include iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, while existing members can finish their current term.

Future upgrades must use Apple Upgrade leasing, Apple Card Monthly Installments, outright purchase, or carrier financing.

AppleCare is no longer bundled into the monthly payment and must be paid separately.
