Google Photos adds in-player playback speed control for videos

Google Photos has added a Playback speed option to the video viewer three-dot menu.

Users can choose 0.25X, 0.5X, 1X, 1.5X or 2X while watching a video; the choice applies only to that viewing session.

The feature was first spotted in mid-January and appears to be rolling out server-side to Android devices without an app update.

Permanent speed changes still require using the Edit > Speed control in the video editor.
