Dell Makes Its Strongest Case Yet for Keeping AI Out of the Cloud

Dell is pushing a hybrid AI strategy, urging enterprises to run more workloads on local, on-prem, and workstation infrastructure instead of relying only on the cloud.

At Dell Technologies World, the company unveiled updates to its AI Factory, including refreshed rack and storage systems, expanded software integrations, and services built for production AI.

Dell said thousands of customers already use its Nvidia-based AI stack, and it is positioning local workstation AI as a faster, cheaper option for some use cases.

The broader message is that cost, latency, data control, and cloud capacity limits are driving companies toward non-cloud AI architectures.
