Epic Games is letting Fortnite developers test AI NPC conversations

Epic Games is testing AI-powered NPC dialogue for Fortnite custom islands.

Creators can use Google Gemini to make NPCs talk to players, remember context, and trigger events.

The feature is restricted by safety rules and cannot be used for medical, mental health, romantic, or policy-bypassing characters.

Supported islands will only be publishable once the feature reaches beta.
