Driverless Cars Will Soon Be Subject to Moving-Violation Tickets in California

California’s DMV has approved updated autonomous-vehicle rules that let moving violations be issued as notices of noncompliance to manufacturers.

The rules require extensive pre-road testing and stronger control in emergency situations for self-driving cars.

The change closes a legal gap for driverless vehicles and raises accountability as autonomous cars expand on public roads.
