ByteDance tests paid subscriptions for AI app Doubao in push toward monetization

ByteDance is testing paid subscription tiers for its Doubao AI app.

The App Store listing now shows three plans at 68 yuan, 200 yuan, and 500 yuan per month.

The premium tiers are aimed at heavier AI tasks like presentation creation, analytics, and video generation.

ByteDance says the subscriptions are still in testing and the free version will remain available.
