Tencent open-sources Hunyuan Hy3 preview, focuses on practical deployment

Tencent has open-sourced Hunyuan Hy3 preview, a 295B-parameter MoE model with 21B active parameters and 256K context support.

The company says the model improves instruction following, long-context understanding, reasoning, and agent performance while keeping deployment costs manageable.

It is available via Tencent Cloud API pricing and already integrated into Yuanbao, Tencent Docs, and Tencent News.

The release underscores Tencent’s push for cost-efficient, commercially usable AI across its product ecosystem.
