It's Official: Resident Evil 5 is No Longer the Best-Selling Game in the Franchise

Capcom says the Resident Evil 2 remake has become the franchise’s best-selling game, reaching 19.5 million copies sold.

That puts it ahead of Resident Evil 5, which had held the top spot with 19.01 million units.

Capcom also said Resident Evil Requiem has sold 8 million units and total Resident Evil franchise sales have topped 213 million.

The milestone underscores the series’ enduring commercial strength and the power of successful remakes.
