Elon Musk loses case against OpenAI and Sam Altman: the ruling has come earlier than expected

A California jury found that Elon Musk’s lawsuit against OpenAI and Sam Altman was filed too late.

The jury said Musk knew the key facts by at least 2021, so his claims were barred by the statute of limitations.

Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers accepted that finding, giving OpenAI a major legal victory.

Musk said he will appeal, but the ruling currently leaves OpenAI’s corporate path intact.
