Inside Gen 13: How We Built Our Most Powerful Server Yet

Cloudflare detailed Gen 13, its newest server platform, centered on a 192-core AMD EPYC Turin 9965 CPU.

The design includes 768 GB DDR5 memory, 24 TB NVMe storage, and dual 100 GbE networking, with support for encryption and accelerators.

Cloudflare says Gen 13 delivers about 2x the throughput of Gen 12 while improving performance per watt and rack density.

The hardware refresh is meant to support the company’s FL2-based request stack without proportionally increasing latency, power, or footprint.
