IBM launches Bob with multi-model routing and human checkpoints to turn AI coding into a secure production system

IBM has globally launched Bob, an AI-powered enterprise software development platform with multi-model routing and mandatory human checkpoints.

Bob already supports IBM Granite, Anthropic Claude, and Mistral models, and IBM says it has been used by more than 80,000 employees.

The company says the system can cut time on selected coding tasks by up to 70% while keeping work secure, auditable, and reviewed by humans.

IBM is positioning Bob as a governed alternative to fully autonomous agent workflows for production software development.
