AI edge data centers planned along Tokaido Shinkansen using idle land

JR Central, Preferred Networks and Actia signed a basic agreement to study distributed AI infrastructure along the Tokaido Shinkansen.

The plan would use JR Central’s idle land and network and PFN’s MN-Core AI semiconductors to build AI edge data centers.

The project aims to enable low-latency AI services for use cases like autonomous driving, smart cities and smart factories.
