ChatGPT exploited by Cambodian scam network, OpenAI takes action to ban it - IT之家

OpenAI has banned ChatGPT accounts linked to a coordinated scam network in Cambodia.

The group used ChatGPT to create fake identities, translate scam messages, draft internal communications, and produce promotional material for investment, romance, and gambling fraud.

The case was first flagged by WhatsApp, and the activity was tied to Poipet in Banteay Meanchey province.

OpenAI shared its findings with industry partners, but the total financial damage remains unclear.
