Samsung to Discontinue Samsung Messages App in July 2026

Samsung announced on April 4, 2026 that the Samsung Messages app will be discontinued in July 2026.

The company did not give an exact shutdown date but said the app will be unavailable to download after July.

Samsung recommends users install Google Messages from the Play Store and set it as the default to avoid service gaps.

Some recent phones already lack Samsung Messages, and older devices may see chat disruptions that recover when both parties use Google Messages.
