Amazon Leo will challenge Musk’s Starlink with in-flight Wi-Fi for Delta airlines

Amazon and Delta announced a deal to deploy Amazon Leo satellite Wi‑Fi on Delta planes starting in 2028.

Delta plans to outfit about 500 aircraft with Leo connectivity and says passengers could see download speeds up to 1 Gbps.

Amazon will use low Earth orbit Leo satellites to deliver lower-latency in-flight internet, and SkyMiles members will retain free access.

The move places Amazon Leo in direct competition with SpaceX’s Starlink in the aviation connectivity market.
