Long-lived Asian women… where does South Korea rank?

Japan’s 2025 life table shows Japanese women with a life expectancy of 87.33 years, keeping the global No. 1 spot for the 41st straight year.

South Korean women ranked second at 86.6 years, with Spain placing third, highlighting longevity comparisons across major Asian and European countries.

For men, Sweden ranked first, while Japanese men saw longer lifespans but slipped to seventh place in the ranking.

Japanese officials said lower death rates from cancer and heart disease helped push life expectancy higher.
