OpenAI co-founder Andrej Karpathy joins Anthropic’s pre-training team

Andrej Karpathy has joined Anthropic and is now working on pre-training.

He will help build a team that uses Claude to speed up research on frontier models.

The move signals Anthropic is doubling down on AI-assisted model development.

Anthropic also hired cybersecurity veteran Chris Rohlf for its frontier red team.
