Iranian Attack Leaves AWS Dubai and Bahrain Regions "Completely Down"; Amazon Says Long-Term Unavailability Expected

AWS data centers in Dubai and Bahrain are in a complete outage.

An internal Amazon memo says the regions are expected to be unusable for a long period and normal redundancy should not be expected.

Cloudflare observed ME-CENTRAL-1 (UAE) and ME-SOUTH-1 (Bahrain) as stopped.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is reported to have attacked a Dubai Oracle data center and a Bahrain AWS data center; the UAE denies the attack.

Amazon will waive March 2026 charges for ME-CENTRAL-1 and has removed Bahrain from its region-specific EC2 instance documentation.
