Reddit is testing a new way to watch — and listen to — its viral posts

Reddit is preparing a TikTok-style video experience that would let users watch and listen to viral posts.

The new format is expected to include background audio narration, with a public test planned for later in 2026.

Video in comments, launched in June, is already generating more than 10% of Reddit’s video posts.

The move shows Reddit adapting its content to short-form video habits that drive engagement across social apps.
