Intuit cuts 3,000 jobs as it refocuses on AI, but says layoffs are "not about AI"

Intuit will cut about 3,000 jobs, or roughly 17% of its workforce, as it shifts more resources toward AI.

The company is deepening partnerships with Anthropic and OpenAI to add more AI features across products like TurboTax, Mailchimp and Credit Karma.

CEO Sasan Goodarzi says the layoffs are meant to simplify management and speed product development, not because AI is replacing workers directly.

The move shows how major software companies are reorganizing around AI adoption even when they avoid framing it as automation-driven cuts.
