Amazon begins transporting goods using Shinkansen, enabling same-day delivery in Aomori, Hakodate, and Kanazawa

Amazon has started transporting products using reserved space on JR Shinkansen services in Japan.

The rollout began on the Tohoku and Hokkaido routes in March and expanded to the Hokuriku route in May.

This enables same-day delivery to regional cities such as Aomori, Hakodate, and Kanazawa.

The move also helps reduce CO2 emissions by shifting middle-mile logistics to rail.
