UK remote-controlled artillery systems with long gun can hit targets from 45 miles away

The UK will procure 72 RCH 155 self-propelled howitzers in a nearly £1 billion deal, with training and support included.

First deliveries are expected in 2028, and the system will eventually replace the retired AS90 fleet.

The program includes significant UK industrial work, supporting jobs and domestic defense manufacturing.

An interim Archer capability will help bridge the artillery gap while the new systems enter service.
