US airlines are banning humanoid robots from flights as safety concerns grow

United and Delta have banned humanoid robots from cabins, checked bags, and cargo holds.

The move follows Southwest’s earlier restriction after a publicized robot-on-flight incident.

Airlines are treating humanoid robots as a separate safety and handling risk, with lithium-ion battery concerns also in play.

Smaller consumer robots are still allowed under existing baggage rules.
