US Navy selects seven companies to test medium sized unmanned surface vessels

The U.S. Navy has advanced seven firms to sea trials for its Medium Unmanned Surface Vessel marketplace program.

Testing will run from June through October 2026, with winners eligible for up to $15 million.

The firms include Sea Machines, Leidos, Saronic Technologies, Galliano Marine Services, PacMar Technologies, Birdon, and Huntington Ingalls Industries.

The program is meant to evaluate autonomous ship designs that could expand fleet capacity, cut crew needs, and influence future naval procurement.
