SpaceX Announces Plans to Put Billionaire on First Rocket to Mars

SpaceX said crypto billionaire Chun Wang will lead its first crewed Mars mission.

The announcement came during coverage of an aborted Starship V3 test flight.

Wang previously backed and led SpaceX’s Fram2 mission, but this Mars trip would be far longer and more demanding.

SpaceX has not revealed the other crew members, timing, or whether Wang is financing the mission.
