WhatsApp working on messages that disappear once you’ve read them

WhatsApp is testing a new “After reading” disappearing-messages timer in beta builds.

Users may soon be able to make messages vanish 5 minutes, 1 hour, or 12 hours after being opened.

Unread messages would still expire after 24 hours by default.

The feature is appearing in both iOS and Android betas, hinting at a wider rollout soon.
