Microsoft rolls out a fix for the broken Windows Start Menu search

Microsoft rolled back a Bing update that caused Start Menu search to malfunction.

A server-side rollback fix was deployed on April 8, 2026.

The issue affected Windows 11 23H2 users and was tracked as WI1273488.

The rollback is applied automatically to affected devices.

For context, a March 2026 security update had earlier broken account sign-ins in Teams, OneDrive and Edge.
