New Northrop F/A-XX video gives clearest look yet at US Navy’s 6th-gen fighter

Northrop Grumman released a new concept video for its F/A-XX bid, giving the clearest public look yet at its tailless sixth-generation carrier fighter.

The U.S. Navy expects to choose between Northrop Grumman and Boeing by August for the F/A-XX program.

F/A-XX is meant to replace the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and complement the F-35C Lightning II as the Navy’s next carrier-based fighter.

Stealth, combat radius, payload, and carrier compatibility will shape the future of the Navy’s air wing for decades.
