After asking the Japanese public to help it find its first ever claw machine game, Taito instead found its second

Taito launched a nationwide search for its first crane game, the Crown 602, first released in 1965.

The company offered ¥100,000 ($630) for tips leading to its location and received more than 4,400 submissions.

The Crown 602 was not found; Taito is no longer accepting submissions but says the search continues.

Instead they located the successor, the Crown 603; it’s in extremely rough condition and its operability is unclear. It had been owned by Keisuke Higano for about 10 years.

Taito Tech will perform a complete overhaul to try to make the Crown 603 fully operational, and Taito will hold a raffle from the 4,400 tips with three winners receiving either the latest game software or admission tickets to amusement facilities.
