Micron just made the most advanced DRAM ever produced in the US, and it's not for your PC

Micron will expand its Manassas, Virginia fab to ramp 1-alpha DRAM and DDR4 production.

Qualified output is expected by the end of 2026, with sales focused on non-PC markets.

The move boosts U.S. memory-chip manufacturing for automotive, defense, aerospace, industrial, and medical customers.

Backed by CHIPS Act support, the project adds capacity, jobs, and strengthens domestic supply chains.
