The US is banning foreign robots

The FCC announced new import restrictions on advanced foreign-made robots and power inverters over national security concerns.

The rules cover mobile robots such as humanoids and quadrupeds, with waivers and existing products still allowed.

Some updates will be phased in through Jan. 1, 2029, giving companies time to adjust.

The move could reshape U.S. robotics and energy markets and add pressure on Chinese suppliers, possibly driving some production to the U.S.
