Cisco builds quantum stack: Universal Quantum Switch is the missing link

Cisco unveiled a working prototype of the Universal Quantum Switch.

The room-temperature device is designed to route entangled photons between different quantum computing modalities with low state loss.

If practical, it could connect smaller quantum processors into larger systems without destroying fragile qubit states, helping solve a major scaling hurdle.
