Meta launches new ‘prescription optimized’ smart glasses

Meta introduced two new Ray-Ban Meta Optics Styles frames called Blayzer and Scriber designed for prescription use.

The frames include overextension hinges, interchangeable nose pads and adjustable temple tips and come in several colors.

Meta says the glasses support nearly all prescriptions but the Meta site limits direct orders to ±6; opticians can fit wider ranges.

The new glasses cost $499, are available for preorder, and will ship starting April 14th.

Meta also announced upcoming software features including AI nutrition logging, WhatsApp summaries on-device, new Display games, and expanded handwriting support.
