Doubao 2 AI smartphone tipped for Q2 debut, two top Chinese phone makers in talks

ByteDance is reportedly preparing a second-generation Doubao AI smartphone for launch in the second quarter.

The company is said to keep working with Nubia and may add two major Chinese handset makers as partners.

The new model would focus on system-level AI and autonomous actions across apps.

ByteDance is also seeking broader app permissions after earlier restrictions limited parts of its first prototype.
