The Coldest “Stars” in the Galaxy Might Actually Be Alien Megastructures

Astronomers say the best places to search for Dyson swarms may be long-lived small stars, especially red dwarfs and white dwarfs.

These stars are easier for a civilization to encircle, and a swarm around them could emit a distinctive cold infrared signal.

That infrared signature would stand out on stellar classification diagrams, making it a strong technosignature target.

Finding such a source could indicate an advanced civilization harvesting stellar energy and would be a major SETI breakthrough.
