Google plans to exempt sanctioned nations from Android developer verification

Google says developers in sanctioned countries will not be able to complete Android developer verification.

That means their apps will not be broadly installable outside those regions.

Google is pushing the verification system to curb scam apps, starting in a few countries before a global rollout in 2027.

A limited advanced bypass flow will exist, but Android app distribution is set to become more restricted.
