AMD extends support for the Socket AM5 platform through 2029, reducing the burden of motherboard upgrades

AMD said at Computex it will extend AM5 socket support through at least 2029, with Zen 6 also planned for the platform.

The longer AM5 roadmap should let users upgrade CPUs for years without replacing their motherboard, lowering total upgrade costs.

AMD also unveiled a budget gaming Ryzen 7 7700X3D and a 10th anniversary Ryzen 7 5800X3D edition for AM4.
