Microsoft begins rolling out Xbox Mode to Windows 11 desktops and laptops — consolidated storefronts and console-style interface come to PC

Microsoft is rolling out Xbox Mode to select Windows 11 PCs, laptops, and tablets in phases.

The new full-screen, controller-friendly interface replaces the standard desktop with an Xbox-style gaming hub.

It aggregates games from Steam, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, and Xbox Game Pass into one library.

Supported devices can enable the feature through Windows Update.

The move positions Microsoft more directly against Valve’s SteamOS and Big Picture.
