Samsung to Exclusively Supply OLED Touch Panels for MacBook Ultra

Apple is reportedly planning to source OLED touch panels for its next 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models only from Samsung Display.

Samsung is expected to begin mass production at its Asan plant as soon as August, with an initial order of about 250,000 panels.

Apple is said to have passed on LG Display and BOE over yield concerns, and the launch is now expected in early 2027.

The move points to a major MacBook Pro redesign with OLED touch support and a deeper reliance on Samsung’s display supply chain.
