You can now walk through AI versions of real places with Google’s Project Genie

Google has expanded its experimental Project Genie so users can pick U.S. locations in Maps and turn Street View imagery into interactive, stylized AI worlds.

The tool can blend real places with AI-generated themes and custom characters, moving beyond fully synthetic environments.

Google says Project Genie is already being used for internal research and by Waymo to simulate driving scenarios.

The feature is available globally to eligible Google AI Ultra subscribers, but it remains experimental.
