Apple introduces monthly subscriptions with a 12-month commitment on the App Store

Apple is introducing a new App Store subscription option with monthly payments tied to a 12-month commitment.

Developers can already test the feature in App Store Connect and Xcode.

The model will reach users after iOS 26.5, but not in the U.S. or Singapore at launch.

The change gives app makers a new way to offer annual plans with lower monthly upfront cost while keeping full-term lock-in.
