Google Search Goes Agentic—and Doesn’t Need You Anymore

Google said Search will gain customizable AI agents that can monitor information, send alerts, and help with bookings.

The first agent features are set to roll out this summer to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers.

Google also named Gemini 3.5 Flash the default model for AI Mode.

The move shows Google turning Search into a more proactive assistant that automates tasks and keeps users engaged.
