"The German language broke our game": how a simple comma was enough to put a Steam game against the ropes

Black Beach Studios found a localization bug in Iron Rebellion that could crash the VR game under a very specific set of conditions.

When the game ran in German, decimal points turned into commas and broke network data parsing, but only in a narrow scenario.

The crash happened if a destroyed mech fell to the left in a specific area during matches with two German players.

The issue has now been fixed, and the report cites a similar German-language problem from The Witcher 2.
