Lyft and Baidu enter London’s robotaxi battleground as testing begins

Lyft and Baidu have started robotaxi testing in London through Freenow, using human safety operators during initial trials.

The first tests are taking place in Brent as the companies work with U.K. regulators and city officials.

They aim to offer public rides by 2027, subject to regulatory approval.

The move adds London to the growing European race to commercialize autonomous ride-hailing.
