BNP Paribas, In Partnership with Mistral, Races to Reinforce Cyber Defenses as AI-Powered Threats Escalate

BNP Paribas is deepening its partnership with Mistral AI to strengthen cybersecurity and expand AI use across business units.

The bank says advanced AI models are making it easier to uncover software vulnerabilities at scale, shrinking defenders’ response time.

CIO Marc Camus warned that banks now have less time to detect and patch weaknesses before they can be exploited.

The move reflects growing concern among European lenders about AI-powered threats and their access to frontier models versus U.S. rivals.
