Windows PCs crash three times as often as Macs, report says

Windows devices were forced to shut down 3.1 times more often than Macs.

Windows programs froze 7.5 times more often than macOS apps and needed restarting more than twice as often.

Macs are replaced on average after five years, while Windows PCs are replaced every three years on average.

Windows use on government devices doubled last year.

AI use across most operating systems grew by nearly 1,000%, driven by employer‑sanctioned tools and user‑installed apps.
